Manual Handling for Podiatrists in Aged Care
Join us for this 60-minute education session. Learn about safe manual handling practices to help prevent workplace injuries for podiatrists working in aged care.
What we will cover:
1. Understand the importance of safe manual handling in aged care podiatry
2. Reinforce safe carrying techniques with specific podiatry equipment
3. Master safe transfer methods when dealing with dependent patients
4. Recognise the significance of proper body positioning, especially during treatments or when in positions for prolonged periods of time
5. Introduce a comprehensive stretching program for injury prevention
The Presenter:
Mitch Roberts
Mitch is a proud UNISA product, graduating from the physio school with Honours. He enjoys helping clients overcome everyday ailments such as neck and back pain, along with the challenge of helping athletes return to sport at their best following injury. With a long history of playing footy and cricket, Mitch has had his fair time both on and off the treatment table and understands his clients needs when they are working through rehab. Mitch has additional qualifications in Dry Needling and utilises manual therapy along with personalised exercise prescription when assisting clients.
