Previous director or related experience:
- I have extensive experience in leadership and governance roles.
- I have been on the APodA Regional Committee since its inception and I am a member of the UWA Podiatry Course External Advisory Board.
- I previously served as the President of the APodA WA, Board Member of the Podiatrists Registration Board of WA, and as a member of several committees, including the Commonwealth Department of Health Primary Health Care for Older Australians Round Table, the HBF Consultative Committee, and the WA Department of Health Allied Health Workforce Committee.
- Additionally, I have held positions outside podiatry, including Board Chair of Edmund Rice Camps for Kids WA, Board Member of St Denis School Joondanna, and President of Leederville Mt Hawthorn Junior Cricket Club.
Competencies and skills relevant to the role:
- With over 27 years of experience in podiatry, I possess a deep understanding of the health system in Australia, including its complexities and challenges.
- I currently own a practice in the northern suburbs of Perth, manage a team of podiatrists and understand the workforce issues that we face both now and in the future.
- My expertise in advocacy, lobbying, and strategic leadership allows me to contribute meaningfully to the Association’s work.
- I am committed to ensuring that the Association plays a crucial role in advancing podiatry’s visibility and influence in healthcare policy through bold, brave advocacy.
Personal attributes relevant to the role:
I am passionate, dedicated, and driven to make a positive impact on the podiatry profession. My experience across a broad range of health settings, including private practice, hospitals, and aged care, gives me a comprehensive perspective on the diverse needs of the profession.
I am committed to the ongoing development of podiatry and believe in the importance of strengthening our profession's advocacy efforts, ensuring we are recognised as an integral component of the healthcare system.
My leadership experience, combined with my passion for improving podiatry's role, makes me well-suited for a Board position.
