Podiatrist – Private Practice | King Meadows Podiatry

Position: Full-time or Part-time (flexible)

Salary Range: $75,000 - $130,000 based on experience. 

Kings Meadows Podiatry is looking to welcome the right podiatrist (with capacity for up to two appointments), to its practice in beautiful Launceston, the main city in Northern Tasmania. We are only open on weekdays which helps us provide exceptional work-life balance and flexibility. The clinic has a full-time reception to provide administrative and supportive tasks and a team of experienced podiatrists to develop and mentor new staff.

Our clinic values excellence in care, attention to detail, formulating best patient care, while having no KPI’s or over-demanding time constraints for performing high-level patient care.

The Role:

You will manage a varied caseload, with appointments structured to allow you to provide thorough, high-quality care. A full variety of podiatric practice, general podiatry, diabetic foot care, biomechanics, paediatrics and nail surgery is available. If you have a particular stream of work that you would prefer the role can be flexible.

All work is based in the clinic with no travel, home visits or aged care facility work unless desired.

Essential Requirements: 

An appropriate tertiary Qualification in Podiatry (or equivalent)

AHPRA registered (or eligibility)

Working with Vulnerable People Check

Australian Police Check

Key Responsibilities:

General Podiatry: Assess and diagnose various foot and ankle conditions together with their related structures to develop and deliver a comprehensive treatment plan.

Diabetic assessment and wound care: Perform neuro-vascular assessments, provide knowledge relating to diabetic control, assess foot health risk levels, perform preventative foot health care, patient education, manage and treat foot wounds and refer to the local high risk foot service when appropriate.

Surgery: Competency in performing Partial Nail Avulsion (PNA) and Total Nail Avulsion (TNA).

Biomechanical and Paediatrics: Assess lower limb structure and function including referring for diagnostic imaging and ultrasound, develop and deliver an appropriate treatment plan which may include orthotics (OTS and custom), and other therapies including exercise prescription.

Communication: Excellent inter-personal communication within a team and communicate clearly with other health professionals and clients in both written and verbal means.

Professional standards: Adhere to the standards of professional practice in Podiatry including ethical standards, maintain patient confidentiality, and proficiency in note taking, report writing, sterilisation and cross infection control. A strong commitment to ongoing professional development.
