Contemporary Approaches to Diagnosing and Treating Sever’s Disease (Calcaneal Apophysitis)
Join us for this 40-minute presentation and 10-minute Q&A session on the topic of Contemporary Approaches to Diagnosing and Treating Sever’s Disease (Calcaneal Apophysitis)
Join leading podiatrist and researcher Rolf Scharfbillig for an evidence‑driven update on Sever’s Disease, one of the most common causes of heel pain in active children. This session will provide clinicians with a clear understanding of the condition, drawing on current research, clinical insights, and practical management strategies.
Rolf will explore advances in assessment techniques, key diagnostic considerations, and the latest evidence surrounding effective treatment pathways. Attendees will gain clarity on risk factors, biomechanical contributors, and how to differentiate Sever’s Disease from other paediatric heel pathologies. The webinar will also cover best‑practice intervention options, including load management, footwear considerations and orthotic therapy.
What we will cover:
1. Identify key risk factors and diagnostic features of Sever’s disease.
2. Use updated assessment and biomechanical evaluation methods in clinical practice.
3. Apply evidence‑based treatment strategies to manage Sever’s disease effectively.
