The Presenter:

Dean Samaras

Dean Samaras is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Podiatric Surgeons (ACPS). He is an AHPRA registered specialist Podiatric Surgeon, an experienced prescriber of scheduled medicines as well as point of care ultrasound.

Dean practices exclusively as a surgical specialist and provides services in metropolitan and regional Victoria. He is the first podiatric surgeon to be granted surgical privileges in a central Victorian regional hospital. He is an Adjunct Lecturer at La Trobe University and has a long history as a clinical examiner, student supervisor and mentor for podiatrists undertaking prescribing endorsement. Dean maintains a strong commitment to the promotion and broader integration of podiatry and the speciality of podiatric surgery within the Australian healthcare system.

Dean has published research in prominent peer reviewed foot and ankle journals and regularly presents at state and national podiatry conferences. He is a trustee of the Australian Podiatry Education and Research Foundation (APERF) with the aim of advancing research into the causes, treatment and prevention of foot problems.

Dean lives in the Melbourne bayside suburb of Williamstown. He loves coffee, all things bbq and most of all his wife and 2 children.
