Essential Ultrasound Knowledge for Your Podiatry Practice
Join us for a practical and interactive webinar designed specifically for podiatrists who want to build confidence and capability in diagnostic ultrasound. Led by internationally respected sonographer Stephen Bird, this session will cover the core principles and clinical applications of ultrasound relevant to foot and lower-limb practice. Stephen brings over 30 years of clinical experience and a passion for ultrasound education. 1. Refresh your fundamentals: how ultrasound works, key terminology, and system setup for optimal imaging.
2. Transducer handling & image acquisition: techniques podiatrists can apply immediately in foot and ankle referrals.
3. Normal anatomy vs pathology: how to recognise common conditions such as tendon and ligament injuries, plantar pathology and soft-tissue abnormalities.
The Presenter:

Stephen Bird
Stephen Bird is a general sonographer living in Adelaide with over 30 years of clinical experience. He holds a General and a Vascular DMU and a Masters of Medical Sonography from the University of South Australia. He is an honorary fellow of ASUM and a life member of the ASA. He is a passionate educator, presenting regularly at national and international conferences as well as conducting weekend workshops for diagnostic medical ultrasound professionals.
