Feet First into Business: Navigating the Private Practice Journey

Join us for this 40-minute presentation and 10-minute Q&A session on the topic 'Feet First into Business: Navigating the Private Practice Journey'.

This webinar will deviate slightly from our usual format. Kirsti Mann will lead us through an engaging live tour of her clinic! Kirsti’s presentation will take you through her clinic space, as well as her journey from sole practitioner to a multi clinic business. This webinar will walk us through the vital role of mentorship in supporting colleagues, especially sole practitioners, in overcoming isolation. We'll explore the pros and cons of starting your own practice, including key insights on managing burnout, understanding costs, and navigating the benefits of working in multidisciplinary or GP clinics. Whether you're considering independence or seeking ways to thrive within a team, this session offers valuable perspectives and practical tips to enhance your practice journey.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the costs of setting up, expanding, and developing your practice
  • Learn about the pros and cons to setting up an independent practice
  • Explore the benefits of peer support and mentoring in the podiatry business world

The Presenter:

Kirstine Mann

Kirstine Mann went into private practice as a sole practitioner in 1997, a young, recently graduated podiatrist, with her mother, Noelene, on the front desk. Twenty-eight years later, she takes pride in having grown Highett Podiatry into its thriving practice today, which operates between two locations and employs nine podiatrists and six administrative staff.

With nearly 30 years of clinical experience, Kirsti has invested in building her practical skills to become a successful and advanced podiatrist, offering a breadth of trusted experience in all aspects of podiatry. Kirsti enjoys mentoring podiatrists in both clinical care and administrative challenges. Kirsti is passionate about professional growth, mentorship, and support of our podiatric community.

Kirsti enjoys all aspects of patient care but takes a special interest in complex musculoskeletal complaints. She enjoys the challenge of a complex diagnosis, prescribing a personalised treatment plan and works with many treatment modalities to get her patients “back on their feet.” Kirsti also enjoys working with young patients and has completed extra training and experience in dance medicine.

Outside the practice, you will find Kirsti travelling the Australian outback and the world, and enjoying dinners out with her husband, Jason, and their family and friends.
