Lunch & Learn | Bacterial Battles: Optimising Antibacterial Therapy
The 2026 Lunch & Learn series will consist of four weekly 30-minute lunchtime webinars focusing on key medication groups in podiatric practice. Each session will include at least one case study and provide practical guidance on indications, contraindications, and treatment considerations when prescribing each category of medication. Sessions will be led by a pharmacist, with a Medicines in Podiatry Special Interest Group member presenting case studies.

The Presenters:
Joyce Anthony
Joyce Anthony is the Analgesic Stewardship (AGS) Pharmacist and Perioperative/Surgical Team Lead at Northern Health. Appointed as the inaugural AGS Pharmacist in 2023, she has led the establishment and expansion of analgesic stewardship services, with this work recognised through the 2025 AdPha Victorian Branch Hospital Team Innovation Award. Joyce serves as Secretary of the Analgesic Stewardship Committee, represents Pharmacy on Surgical and Perioperative Governance Committees, works closely with the Acute Pain Service, and is actively involved in education and conference presentations on safe and effective pain management.

Danni Miatke
Danni Miakte is a Consultant Pharmacist, with over 10 years’ experience working in tertiary facilities across Victoria and Tasmania. For the last 4 years she has led the Antimicrobial Stewardship service at Northern Health in Victoria, in addition to contributing expert specialist care as the senior Infectious Disease Pharmacist.
