In this MSK SIG webinar, John will explore the nuance and updated highlights of plantar heel pain diagnosis and management. As a part of this, John will go into detail about exercise use and how, why, and when it is most appropriate. Importantly, John will discuss how to navigate application of evidence-informed approaches to better support clinical decision making to help you achieve optimal patient outcomes.

The Presenter:

John Osborne
John Osborne is a podiatrist, clinician–researcher, and Lecturer with a PhD focused on muscle strength and plantar heel pain. He is a Certified Sports and Musculoskeletal Podiatrist through the Australian Podiatry Association, and has worked clinically with a range of elite sporting teams across Australia.
John’s research examines the role of muscle function and strength in lower limb pain, with a particular focus on plantar heel pain. His work aims to clarify commonly held assumptions in clinical practice by carefully evaluating the available evidence and its relevance to clinical reasoning. Alongside his academic role, John continues to practice clinically, maintaining a strong interest in the translation of research into professional understanding rather than prescriptive treatment models.
