Introducing the APodA’s newest Board Directors
 

The Australian Podiatry Association (APodA) is pleased to announce the outcomes of the 2026 Board Election, with two new directors joining the Board and the re-appointment of an existing director, effective from the AGM on 20 May 2026.

Meet Laura Kelly (Ellwood)

Laura brings a strong foundation in clinical leadership and business governance to the APodA Board. As co-founder and clinical director of The Foot Studio in Western Australia, Laura oversees strategic planning, financial performance, compliance, and organisational leadership. She is a passionate advocate for advancing the visibility of the podiatry profession, with experience spanning education and workforce development, stakeholder engagement, and innovation in healthcare systems. Laura's commitment to mentoring practitioners and fostering unity within the profession will be a valuable asset to the Board.

Meet David Shaw

David is a founding director of Rightfoot Podiatry & Footwear Clinics and Pottsville Podiatry (formerly ESP Medical) in New South Wales, with 25 years of full-time podiatry practice across public and private settings. He brings specialist expertise in digital health, having served as a digital health advisor for the Australian Digital Health Agency and contributed to numerous APodA working groups, including Allied Health Consistent Terminology Data Standards and DVA & PHI billing reviews. David’s skills in modern technology, data coding, and collaborative practice make him a strong addition to the Board.

Congratulations to Mary-Ellen Redmayne

Congratulations to Mary-Ellen on her reappointment to the Board. Mary-Ellen has been an APodA Board Member since 2024, currently serving as acting chair of the Audit and Risk Committee. As founder of The Foot Stop Podiatry Services and patient management software Tracksy, she brings deep governance expertise (GAICD), aged care industry foresight, and a long history of contribution to APodA committees.

Farewell and thank you

The APodA also takes this opportunity to sincerely thank outgoing directors Maria Latemore (Mav) and Kylie McCulloch for their years of dedicated service to the APodA. Mav served as an APodA board director for six years, while Kylie brought her commitment to the profession through APodA NSW before joining the national board in 2024. Both have been pivotal in championing our profession and shaping the organisation.

Thank you, Mav and Kylie, for your unwavering support, engagement, and the lasting legacy you leave behind. Your commitment has truly shaped who we are today.
