Why do I need Professional Indemnity Insurance?

Professional Indemnity Insurance is a registration requirement with Ahpra and the Podiatry Board of Australia. More than that, it can provide financial protection should you face an allegation of negligence, error or a breach of professional duty in care by a patient.

Why does the APodA policy also have Public & Products Liability included?

We strive to equip you with the tools and support you need so you can focus on delivering the best care for your patients. That’s why the cover offered is a combined policy that also provides protection if your business activities, or the products you sell, cause injury or property damage to a third party.

I plan on setting up my own business name and practising under it. Am I covered?

Our insurance partner BMS offers insurance for various stages of your career, including the cover you need when starting a podiatry practice. Simply apply for cover such as Entity Insurance and Business Insurance in the BMS Portal or speak to BMS for further information.

You must be part of the APodA Member Insurance program in order to access additional cover. If your membership ceases you will not be offered renewal when your policy expires.
