FT/PT Podiatrist Boyne Island, QLD

Position Vacant: Full Time

Podiatrist – New Graduate or Experienced – Boyne Island, Queensland

Permanent Full-time or Part-time | New Graduates & Overseas Podiatrists welcome to apply

Practice Information
This locally owned and operated private podiatry clinic is located in beautiful Boyne Island, Queensland. Established in early 2018, the clinic currently employs two Podiatrists and provides a supportive, collaborative environment with an interesting and varied caseload.

The modern clinic is supported by in-store footwear sales and 3D orthotic scanning, with close referral relationships with local Physiotherapists and GPs. The practice offers a full scope of Podiatry services, including custom supramalleolar devices, nail surgery, DVA/NDIS/GPMP services, Doppler TBI assessment, video gait assessment and 3D scanning for orthotic prescription.

The clinic also sees a good volume of biomechanical and paediatric patients due to the local population and strong sporting community, providing excellent opportunities to develop skills across a broad range of clinical areas.

The clinic is open Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm.

About the Position
We are looking for a Podiatrist of any experience level, with both experienced clinicians and new graduates welcome to apply.

We are particularly committed to supporting clinicians who are early in their careers or who are transitioning to practice in Australia after working overseas. Rather than expecting a new clinician to immediately manage a full and complex caseload, we provide a structured approach to help you build confidence, clinical reasoning and independence over your first 12 months.

As a new graduate or overseas trained Podiatrist, you will receive:
- A structured 12-month mentoring and professional development plan
- A gradual increase in clinical responsibility and caseload complexity
- Access to a Senior Podiatrist at all times for clinical discussion, advice and support
- A weekly meeting with a Senior Podiatrist to review cases, discuss learning goals and support your development
- Regular in-house CPD and clinical education
- Increased mentoring during the transition into the practice and Australian healthcare environment
- Training and support in technical running footwear assessment and prescription
- Training in dermoscopy
- Training in Ritchie Brace prescription
- Training in SMO prescription
- Longer consultation times to allow appropriate assessment, education and clinical reasoning
- Opportunities to develop skills across general, sports, paediatric, biomechanical and orthotic Podiatry.
- Access to well developed referral and support networks with our local allied health and GP clinics.

We understand that developing as a clinician takes time. Our goal is to provide the right balance of independence, support and exposure to a varied caseload so that you can progressively build your skills and confidence.

As an experienced clinician, you will receive:
- Minimum 30min appointments
- 60min biomechanical assessments
- Opportunities to develop skills across general, sports, paediatric, biomechanical and orthotic Podiatry.
- Access to well developed referral and support networks with our local allied health and GP clinics.
- Support to structure your CPD and clinical diary to ensure that you are seeing the type of patients you wish to see across the week.
- Weekly team meetings

Consultation Structure & Work Environment
We believe quality Podiatry requires sufficient time to assess patients properly and develop an appropriate treatment plan.

The shortest standard consultation is 30 minutes, with longer appointments used where clinically appropriate. Biomechanical assessments are allocated 60 minutes, providing adequate time for assessment, discussion and treatment planning.

All Podiatrists also receive a paid paperwork break during the working day.  Full reception support is provided, and flexible working arrangements are available and encouraged.

About Boyne Island
Boyne Island is a twin-towns locality with Tannum Sands and is located at the southern end of the Great Barrier Reef region. It is approximately a 25-minute drive from Gladstone and around 6.5 hours from Brisbane, with daily flights from Gladstone to Brisbane. The area is easily accessed by car with a bridge connecting to the mainland.

The area offers plenty of sporting, outdoor and recreational opportunities and is an excellent location for those looking for a relaxed coastal lifestyle while still having access to the services of a regional centre.

Qualifications & Experience
Applicants must hold:
- Bachelor of Health Science (Podiatry) or equivalent
- Registration with AHPRA
- Relevant industry registrations and professional indemnity insurance
-Valid driver's licence.

New graduates are encouraged to apply. We are also interested in hearing from Podiatrists who have trained or worked overseas and are looking for a supportive environment in which to transition into Australian clinical practice. We have previously sponsored an international Podiatrist and have experience with VISAs and the required paperwork.

Experience across all areas of Podiatry is beneficial but not essential. We are happy to train and mentor the right applicant.

The successful candidate will have the ability to work effectively within a team environment while also developing the confidence to work autonomously.

The successful candidate will be able to participate regularly in clinical case discussion with colleagues, with a high emphasis on maintaining up to date and evidence based treatment methodology and to encourage the team build our skill level as a whole.

Salary Information
Remuneration packages of $80,000–$110,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

We are looking for someone who wants to build a long-term career with a supportive team, not simply fill a position. If you are a new graduate or an experienced Podiatrist looking for greater support, mentoring and professional development, we would love to hear from you.
