Adelaide Foot and Ankle is looking for an experienced Podiatrist to join our busy, well-established practice. We have a strong referral base, varied patient caseloads and, importantly, a genuinely great team. We take our clinical standards seriously, but we also believe work should be enjoyable. Our podiatrists are approachable, engaged and supportive of one another, and we’re looking for someone who will fit naturally into that environment.

This is a full-time role working across Adelaide Foot and Ankle’s Semaphore, Prospect and Campbelltown practices. The majority of your week will be at Semaphore and Prospect, led by Dr Robert Hermann, Podiatric Surgeon, with regular hours at Campbelltown working alongside Practice Principal and Podiatrist Melisa Sidhu. It offers the opportunity to work within one collaborative team across three established Adelaide practices.

What also sets Adelaide Foot and Ankle apart is the breadth of clinical practice you’ll be exposed to. Our podiatrists independently manage varied caseloads across general, high-risk and musculoskeletal podiatry, within a practice whose scope extends to complex foot and ankle presentations, scheduled medicines, injection therapies and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery.

For an experienced podiatrist who is confident in their own abilities but wants to work in an environment that offers more than a traditional podiatry practice, it’s a pretty unique opportunity.

What makes working with us different?

We’re a busy practice with strong referral relationships across GPs, specialists and allied health.

You’ll be trusted to manage your patients. We’re looking for an experienced clinician who is comfortable making clinical decisions, managing their own caseload and taking responsibility for excellent patient care.

You’ll work alongside a great team. Our podiatrists genuinely support one another. Cases are discussed, opinions are shared and there’s always someone to bounce an idea off when you come across something interesting or unusual.

You’ll be exposed to a broader scope of practice. Working within a practice with Podiatric Surgery means exposure to complex foot and ankle presentations that may not commonly be seen in a general podiatry setting.

You’ll have opportunities to keep developing. For those interested, there is access to supervision for Endorsement for Scheduled Medicines (ESM)as well as opportunities for exposure to injection therapies and assisting with both in-office and hospital-based surgical procedures.

And you’ll have excellent administrative support. Our experienced admin team manages scheduling, patient communication and much of the day-to-day administration, allowing our podiatrists to concentrate on their patients.

The role

You’ll manage a broad and varied caseload, including:

· General podiatry and preventative foot care

· Assessment and management of musculoskeletal conditions

· High-risk foot care

· NDIS patients

· Ingrown toenail management and nail surgery

· Fungal nail treatment, including laser

· Shockwave therapy

· Dry needling

· SWIFT microwave therapy for plantar warts

· Opportunities to assist with in-office and hospital-based surgical procedures

Who are we looking for?

Clinical experience matters – you’ll need current AHPRA registration and a minimum of two years’ experience as a Podiatrist – but we’re also looking for the right person for our team.

You’ll be someone who is:

· Engaging and personable – you enjoy people and build rapport easily with patients and colleagues.

· Clinically confident – you’re comfortable managing your own caseload and making sound clinical decisions.

· Switched on – you notice what’s happening around you, use initiative and take responsibility for getting things done.

· Curious – you’re already a capable clinician, but you recognise the value of being exposed to different ideas, complex cases and a broader clinical scope.

· A good communicator – with patients, colleagues and referrers.

· A team person – independent when you need to be, but happy to contribute, discuss cases and support the people around you.

· Professional – you take pride in your clinical care, documentation and the experience you provide your patients.

Experience with shockwave therapy and dry needling would be helpful, but isn’t essential.
