Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Podiatrists to join the Podiatry department as the Grade 4 Foot Procedure Unit Coordinator. (salary 125k to 145k plus super and benefits)
Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.
Services are provided through our six main campuses:
Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.
About the Role:
This role combines advanced High-Risk Foot clinical practice with leadership in service delivery, workforce development, quality improvement, education, and research. The successful applicant will also contribute to the Northern Health Allied Health Leadership Group, supporting organisation-wide clinical governance and strategy.
This role is responsible for:
Leading safe, high-quality, evidence-based podiatry services across multi-site FPU services
Driving service performance, quality improvement, and accreditation (including NADC iHRFS)
Providing clinical leadership in High Risk Foot care, diabetes-related foot disease, and PAD
Supporting workforce planning, supervision, recruitment, and professional development
Strengthening referral pathways and multidisciplinary collaboration
Promoting person-centered care, safety, and innovation
To be successful in this role you will have:
Extensive acute hospital High Risk Foot experience
Strong leadership capability that includes a strategic mindset with excellent communication skills, and a commitment to service improvement and research.
Bachelor or Masters degree in Podiatry
Current AHPRA registration as a Podiatrist
Minimum 10 years post-registration experience, including 5 years in a High-Risk Foot Clinic
Extensive experience in diabetes-related foot disease and peripheral artery disease
It will be advantageous to:
Be endorsed (or working towards) to prescribe restricted medicines
Have experience in research, project management, and accreditation processes
Have a relevant Postgraduate qualification (or working towards)
