Locum Podiatrist - Hobart, TAS

Locum

Looking for a change of scenery without the pressure of making a permanent move?

Foot Systems is offering a podiatrist the opportunity to spend 6–12 months living and working in Hobart, with a flexible 2–3 day working week and plenty of time to experience Tasmania.

This could suit someone looking for a career break with a difference, a temporary move to Tasmania, or simply the chance to experience living somewhere new without a long-term commitment.

Tasmania offers an exceptional combination of outdoor adventure, wilderness, beaches, food, wine and a relaxed lifestyle — and with only 2–3 clinical days each week, you’ll actually have time to enjoy it.

The Role

We are looking for a registered podiatrist to join our established Hobart clinic for a maternity leave position of approximately 6–12 months.

The role will primarily involve general podiatric care, working with an established patient base alongside an experienced team.

You don’t need to be a senior podiatrist or an MSK specialist. Our experienced podiatrists will continue to manage the clinic’s more complex musculoskeletal caseload, allowing you to focus on providing excellent general podiatric care.

For a podiatrist with a strong interest or experience in musculoskeletal or sports podiatry, however, we’d also be very interested in hearing from you. There may be scope to become more involved in this area and, for the right person, potentially explore opportunities beyond the initial maternity leave period.

Why Consider It?

  • A genuine lifestyle opportunity
  • Spend 6–12 months experiencing Tasmania without committing to a permanent relocation.
  • Only 2–3 days per week
  • Enjoy meaningful clinical work while keeping four or five days each week free to explore, travel or pursue other interests.
  • An established caseload
  • Step into an existing practice rather than having to build a patient base from scratch.
  • Flexibility - We can discuss working days and arrangements with the right person.
  • A supportive clinical environment. You’ll work alongside experienced podiatrists in an established Hobart practice, with support available when you need it while still having the autonomy to manage your own patients.

Potential for something more....
If Tasmania and Foot Systems turn out to be a good fit, there may be opportunities to discuss a longer-term role, particularly for a podiatrist with musculoskeletal expertise.

About You

  1. We’re looking for someone who:
  2. Holds current AHPRA registration as a podiatrist
  3. Is comfortable providing general podiatric care independently
  4. Has good clinical and communication skills
  5. Enjoys working as part of a professional but relaxed team
  6. Is looking for something a little different from their next role
  7. MSK or sports podiatry experience would be welcomed, but is not essential.

Hobart ranks in the top ten Small Cities in the World, and @tasmania in the top ten Islands in Australia & The South Pacific. Come spend six months or a year in Tasmania, working a few days each week, earning a good income and using the rest of your time to explore one of the most desirable travel destinations on the planet.

We look forward to hearing from you!
